The standard voltage on all yachts is 12 volts. In order to use electronic equipment that is 110v or 220v, you will need an inverter suitable for use in a cigarette lighter.

Arrival & Customs


How to get there: Fly to Papeete-Tahiti; connection is direct flight for Raiatea, we will arrange a transfer with our minibus or a taxi to the base.
Raiatea Airport to The Moorings base:
Distance approx 30 Min by taxi. Cost 4 000 cfp each way (± 34 euros)

Customs & Immigration: Every visitor to French Polynesia must have a return airline ticket to their resident country or to at least two more continuing destinations, sufficient funds to support themselves while in French Polynesia, in addition to the following:
For U.S. and Canadian Citizens: A passport is required that is valid for six months beyond the date of departure from French Polynesia. No visa is required for stays of up to one month.
For French Citizens: A National Identity Card is required and it is advised to carry a passport that is valid for six months beyond the date of departure from French Polynesia. No visa is required for stays of up to three months.
New Zealand and Australian Citizens: A passport is required that is valid for three months beyond the date of departure from French Polynesia. No visa is required for stays of up to one month for New Zealand citizens and for up to three months for Australian citizens except for paid activities in French Polynesia.
Please confirm requirements pertaining to all other nationalities with the local tourist bureau.

Climate


The climate in French Polynesia is sunny and pleasant. Roughly speaking, there are two seasons: from September through May the climate is warmer and humid, while April through August is cooler and drier.

Most of the rain falls during the warmer season, but there are also many sunny days during these months, with refreshing trade winds.

The water temperature averages 79°F (26°C) in the winter and 84°F (29°C) in the summer with less than a degree of variation from the surface down to 165 feet (50 meters).


Money


Currency: The currency used in French Polynesia is the French Pacific franc, or CFP. Though exchange rates vary, there are approximately 100 CFP to the U.S. dollar. Notes come in denominations of 500, 1000, 5000 and 10,000, and coins in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100.

Accepted Forms of Payment: The Pacific Franc is the common money in French Polynesia. Euros and US Dollars are accepted throughout the Leeward Islands. Visa and MasterCard are also accepted in most of the larger restaurants and supermarkets

Bathrooms, water and fuel at the dock, bar, restaurants, souvenirs shop, snorkelling gear, dive center, fax, public phone, internet, dinghies or kayaks, tourist brochures and information, weather forecast.


Boarding / Departure


Charters start at 10 AM or 4 PM (with evening start). Boat/chart Briefings are scheduled at 9 am or 2 pm for evening starts 7 days a week. All head charterers are required to attend the briefings. All charters end at 10 AM at which time the boat must be returned and ready for debriefing and checks.
