DEPARTURE BASES - English Harbour / Jolly Harbour
English Harbour (Nelson's Dockyard): This yacht charter base is located in the best known spot on Antigua at Nelson's Dockyard in the South of the Island. Built by the famous Admiral Lord Nelson this is an ideal starting point for exploring the coastline and some of Antigua’s lovely beaches. This historic area is now known as much for its lively pubs and restaurants as its fascinating history. Nearby Shirley Heights is popular for its famous “Jump Up” BBQs and punch parties with dancing and live music.
Jolly Harbour: Situated on the sheltered Leeward side of the island, the approach to Jolly Harbour Marina is through gorgeous aquamarine water amidst beautiful bays and quiet sandy beaches - all of which are accessible and just a short boat ride away.
ASA SAILING COURSE
Vacation and learn to sail at the same time one a fun-filled week of cruising the Antigua keys under the friendly guidance of your own licensed sailing instructor. You'll learn the difference between a sheet and a halyard, practice basic navigation among a chain of glittering islands, review anchoring techniques as you stop mid-day to explore an undersea coral garden, master docking at a fine marina for dinner and dancing, and maybe even touch on celestial navigation as you stargaze from your boat, anchored in a moonlit cove.
