How to get around Italy?

Naples If you want to fly by taxi during your Italian sailing charter, you can reserve or hail licensed taxis in advance and settle on the fare before you get in. As taxis appear to overcharge visitors, make sure you just pay when you get out with your bags and pay for what you agreed to. As the traffic is strong, avoid hiring cars. We can arrange airport transfers on your behalf.

Sicily In the marina district, there are two airports, both of which are about two hours away from the base. A drive and a ride on the Villa San Giovanni-Messina ferry are expected at Reggio Calabria Airport. At the airport, taxis and other transportation are open. The other airport is the Airport of Catania-Fontanarossa, or Vincenzo Bellini Airport. 2.3 NM southwest of Catania, the second largest city on the Italian island of Sicily, is the international airport.

We highly recommend transfer reservations for a short, simple and comfortable journey ahead of your yacht charter in Sicily. The charter price does not include transfers. Catania (and Reggio Calabria) are the nearest airports to our base, about two hours away, while Palermo is about three hours away. If you wish to travel by train, all timetables and fares can be checked on If coming by car, It is possible to park inside the village of Portorosa if you arrive by car.

Sardinia Olbia Costa-Smeralda International Airport is situated less than a kilometre away from the base. Olbia Costa-Smeralda International Airport provides options for rental cars as well as taxi services to the base.=answer
