Cruise Cancun and the Yucatan Peninsula on Mexico’s Caribbean coast and explore the impressive Mesoamerican Reef, the world’s second largest coral reef which spans 700 miles across four countries.

If you are looking to find a prime cruising ground offering beautiful beaches and the chance to see whale and lemon sharks, swim with turtles and dine on dishes inspired by Mayan culture then Cancun, Mexico, is an unforgettable destination you don't want to miss.

Day 1: Isla Mujeres

Enjoy the peaceful island of Isla Mujeres and its vibrant coral reefs, including the Garrafon Natural Reef Park, El Farito Reef, Sac Bajo Reef and the MUSA underwater sculpture museum. Sunbathe at Playa Norte and watch the sunset at Playa Sol. Whale sharks congregate here, attracted by the Mesoamerican Reef.

Day 2: Isla Mujeres to Holbox

Separated by the mainland by a lagoon, Holbrox offers so many choices for natural landscapes and beaches that are untouched by tourism. The island is surrounded by mangroves and jade waters that you can explore by kayak. A couple of notable beaches to try include Punta Coco and Punta Mosquito to see flamingos. It's perfect for those who love bird watching with more than 150 species on the island, or you might spot eagle rays and turtles.

Day 3: Holbox to Cozumel

Cozumel is a favorite with diving and snorkeling fans thanks to its pristine coastline with clear waters and colorful reefs. Explore Paradise Reef, Columbia Reef and Palancar Reef. Dive the underwater caves at Devil's Throat at Punta Sur. You can break your itinerary here with a stopover at Isla Mujeres if you want shorter legs.

Day 4: Cozumel to Tulum

Get up early to explore the Mayan ruins at the coastal sea fortress that overlooks the Caribbean Sea. Swim the natural fresh water sinkholes in the limestone and see rock formations. Stroll the sandy beaches at Tulum, fringed with palm trees..

Day 5: Tulum to Playa del Carmen

If you want to dive the Mesoamerican Reef, this is the best place to find a dive tour to show the best spots to see bull sharks, wrecks and for wall diving. Marine life includes turtles, rays, bull sharks and barracuda, as well as tropical fish. Relax on the wide sands of Mamitas where you can try water sports, such as parasailing and jet skis.

Day 6: Playa del Carmen to Puerto Morelos

Visit this traditional fishing village where the shallow reef system is popular for snorkeling. To protect the ecosystem you need a guide for the Puerto Morelos National Park. If you want to relax, head to Playa Secreto and Playa Delfines.

Day 7: Puerto Morelos to Isla Mujeres
